Imagine my surprise, I opened the gold ink for the first time and it smells like cinnamon! I guess this may classify this as a scratch and sniff card??

Christmas Card 1

Here is my first idea for a Christmas card. If enough people are interested my plan is to make multiples and have sets available to buy with 5 or 6 cards included. Let me know if you like it!

Scrappin' date with Lindsay..

My friend Lindsay came over tuesday and I've officially initiated her in the ways of the scrapper. We made three cards and we ran the gamut of embossing, daubing/stippling, blending, etc. Everything turned out beatifully so i've high hopes for her future projects. We remade three cards from my collection, here are the two I did.

Dressed up Notecards

Last time I was at Winner's trolling for deals I came across some little boxes of notecards in the clearance section. There's cards and/or envelopes missing from each set i got but for the $3 i spent on each, it really doesn't matter to me. I love teeny little cards, these ones aren't very teeny they're about 5x 3 /34 in but they're cute for sure. I used embossing powder and microbeads as embellishments on the black and white ones.

Stampin' Up Goodies

I got my new punches and inks from the Stampin Up! party we had a few weeks back. I *love* my eyelet border punch, but i expected as much. I went to Michaels and bought myself a xyron which is AWESOME! i've had my eye on the sticker maker for a while (soo much easier for ribbons) and they had a kit that came with the sticker maker, two refills for it, then a tape runner with three refills for that (at $6.50 a piece individually, this makes me very very happy) and a roll of double sided photo tape. The kit was $40 but since i had a 50% off coupon for Michaels, i paid $20. Best. deal. ever. ... More photos to come soon

Newbies!

Last Saturday (May 9) my Mom and I had our very first Stampin' Up Workshop! I can't wait to get my eyelet border punch.

This is my favourite card project that we did! White embossing powder, glitter ribbon, scallop punches and corner tag punch all used.

In other news.... I've had my eye on the Cuttlekids die cutter at Michaels. They had it on sale in the clearance section for $25 and I googled (thank blackberry) if other dies would work with it. Yahoo Answers claims yes. They're right.... just not totally accurate. i had to find thinner cutting mats (Sizzix ones to be exact) but now the dies i bought the same day are (thankfully) functional. Steff's been having some fun with them. Also, I've entered into the realm of embossing via toaster oven. I love embossing and have procured some metallic and clear. I think my next acquisition will be black. Stay tuned! in the meantime, here are my newest cards. I think i kind of went overboard in April so the craftiness has somehwat gone into recession like the economy.

Frenchy die cuts. the chipboard sticker is from michaels.

Lovey Die cuts,scattered hearts.

This one is a request from a co-worker. Ladybugs! luckily i had some stickers.

Same die cut hearts as above, with a sticker and some layered ivory cardstock and stamping.

This one is a mix of fuschia/magenta, sepia brown and eggplantish purple inks, daubed on white cardstock after embossing the butterfly in silver.
